DataSite Atlanta Adds Redundant Substation, Critical Power, Chiller Capacity & Upgraded Physical Security
San Diego, CA and Marietta, GA; April 15, 2021 – DataSite, an owner/operator of large-scale data centers has recently completed a capacity expansion to their Atlanta data center. To be able to accommodate the growing customer demand and meet the needs of the thriving Atlanta data center market, DataSite Atlanta has made significant upgrades to the utility feeds, UPS systems, back-up generators and chiller capacity at the facility.
DataSite Atlanta in coordination with Marietta Power installed a loop-fed redundant utility feed from a secondary substation to add additional resilience to the current substation adjacent to the property.
Upgraded electrical systems include:
. Two new 1,000kVA Utility Transformers
. Two Main Switchgears, providing diverse power system line ups in a block redundant configuration.
. Two 500kW UPS Modules, redundant, providing 500kW of block redundant critical kW.
. Two new 750kW Diesel Engine Generators, providing 750kW of block redundant 2N emergency power.
Installation of Chiller #3 in the South Chilled Water Plant, providing 832kW of additional cooling capacity.
Installation of Generator #3 in the North Generator Plant, providing 750kW of additional emergency power.
Installation of perimeter fence and gate system providing enhanced physical security.
DataSite Atlanta now has three independent power systems and two independent cooling systems.
