Jeff Burges
President
Jeff Burges is the President & Founder of DataSite; a wholesale data center space and network services provider. DataSite provides mission critical data center facility environments coupled with best-in-class facility operations. The company’s data center services solve complex real estate challenges for technology intensive users in the corporate enterprise, managed services and content delivery networks industries and beyond. DataSite currently owns and operates world-class U.S. based facilities in Orlando, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia.
Mr. Burges has owned and managed over 21 million square feet of commercial real estate, valued at over $2.5 billion. These portfolios consisted of data centers, telecom hotels, bio-technology labs as well as traditional office and industrial properties throughout the United States. Through his 32 year career in commercial real estate, Mr. Burges has gained a deep understanding of the property and critical infrastructure needs of the most discriminating technology companies, while simultaneously honing his real estate skill set. This combination enables DataSite to provide its clients with broad and uniquely valuable data center solutions.
In 2003, Mr. Burges founded BURGES property + company with a specific strategy to purchase empty, undervalued and misunderstood data center properties as property investments. In 2008, Mr. Burges launched DataSite as the logical next step in providing the worldwide IT community best-in-class data center space by the kilowatt.
Giving back to the industry and community is very important to Mr. Burges. Thus, Mr. Burges has served as an Officer on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Chapter of NAIOP; the Commercial Real Estate Association. He is a regular speaker and mentor to students and faculty at UCSD, San Diego State University and the University of San Diego. Mr. Burges, his wife and children are avid supporters of the MARSOC Foundation (Marine Special Operations Command) at Camp Pendleton, California. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management Consulting.
Christine Sotelo
Executive Vice President of Operations
Christine Sotelo, Executive Vice President of Operations at Burges property + company is responsible for the management of the company’s assets. Her duties include participating in the development and support of the company’s strategic plans, compiling monthly and annual financial reports, and preparing annual budgets. She is also responsible for developing and managing financial controls, providing leadership and support to the accounts receivable and accounts payable departments, managing and preparing payroll for personnel, HR, tenant relations, and partner and financial institution interface.
During her career, Ms. Sotelo has participated in the acquisition, disposition, and management of millions of square feet of technology office, retail, industrial and R&D real estate. She has specific expertise in property management, construction and real estate repositioning. Prior to joining Burges property + company, Ms. Sotelo served as the asset manager for Shidler West Investment Corporation, a national real estate organization that actively acquired real estate for its own account. During her tenure, Ms. Sotelo was responsible for repositioning and managing over six million square feet of commercial properties in San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, and Austin, Texas.
Robert Wilson
Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Robert Wilson, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at DataSite is responsible for the sales and marketing activities of all Burges property + company’s DataSite locations. Mr. Wilson has over 20 years of sales and marketing experience with a special focus on providing services to information and technology intensive organizations in the corporate, government, and educational sectors.
Prior to joining Burges property + company, Mr. Wilson worked for the publicly traded technology company, SAVVIS, one of the world’s largest data center, IP network and managed services providers. While at SAVVIS, Mr. Wilson served as the Director of Account Management where he led the sales team and was responsible for the day-to-day management of the existing customer base which included growing and retaining topline revenue.
In addition to his working at SAVVIS, Mr. Wilson worked as New Business Development Manager for SunGard Availability Services, the global leader in disaster recovery, managed hosting and data replication services. He managed SunGard’s state and local government and education accounts throughout the states of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, as well as selling to the Fortune 500 enterprise accounts throughout the state of Florida.
Additionally, Mr. Wilson held positions as the President of a vinyl product manufacturing company and a Vice President in the mortgage lending industry.
Mr. Wilson has a degree from the University of Maryland where he majored in Economics. He continues to further his learning and sharing his knowledge by participating in industry associations such as 7×24 International, BICSI, Technology Association of Georgia, Idaho Technology Council and Enterprise Florida.
Eric Blomquist
Vice President of Clients
Eric Blomquist, Vice President of Clients at DataSite is responsible for managing the company’s existing clients. Mr. Blomquist’s 25 years of sales experience have included a special focus on providing proven IT solutions to organizations in the corporate, government, and educational sectors.
Prior to joining Burges property + company, Mr. Blomquist worked for the publicly traded technology company, EMC, the world’s leader in data storage and data protection where he was responsible for sales for the central Florida market. Before joining EMC, Mr. Blomquist worked as a Subject Matter Expert for SunGard, a global leader in business continuity and IT disaster recovery solutions. He was responsible for representing SunGard’s capabilities and consulting practices across the Southeast.
Additionally, Mr. Blomquist held positions at Computer Associates and Ferguson Enterprises after graduating from the University of Florida in 1992 with a degree in Business Administration along with a minor in Economics.
Jessica Atkinson
Vice President of Finance
Jessica Atkinson, Vice President of Finance at DataSite, is responsible for architecting financial modeling and analyses to direct optimal operations management. Her duties include developing and managing organizational systems and creating business plans, property performance reports, and other communication materials for business partners and lenders.
Prior to joining Burges property + company, Ms. Atkinson worked for a publicly traded real estate investment trust, Realty Income, where she led a team in the Portfolio and Asset Management department. There, she directed portfolio-level strategy for the portfolio of more than 6,000 properties and oversaw opportunity analysis and reporting materials. Ms. Atkinson graduated with honors from University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology
Reed Disney
Principal of DataSite Atmosphere
As Principal of DataSite Atmosphere, Reed Disney leads the Cloud and IT services division of DataSite; a hybrid-wholesale colocation firm, operating across the US.
Mr. Disney has over 15 years of experience in delivering critical IT infrastructure, networking, and hosting services to clients in the US, and across the globe.
Prior to joining Atmosphere, Mr. Disney served as Vice President & General Manager for Involta, a Midwest based colocation and cloud services company, where Mr. Disney was instrumental in launching a successful cloud platform.
Mr. Disney was a Partner, and served as Chief Operating Officer, of SolutionPro, a Boise based datacenter and managed IT services company, founded in 1998. Mr. Disney played an integral role in the re-capitalization and re-introduction of SolutionPro in 2003, enabling the provision of profitable, high-availability and highly secure commercial, government, and education IT environments.
Mr. Disney brings a vast array of experience and knowledge in IT services, which blend with his uniquely capable business skills to create an ideal Principal of DataSite Atmosphere.
Ryan Murphy
Vice President of Site Management
Ryan Murphy, Vice President of Site Management at DataSite is responsible for the site management team at all of Burges property + company’s DataSite locations. The site management team oversees the day-to-day functions related to customer experience. Responsibilities for the site management team include customer installs, remote hands, property maintenance, facility security, and adherence to audit standards.
Prior to joining Burges property + company, Mr. Murphy worked for EMC corporation in Massachusetts, the world’s largest data storage and cloud infrastructure provider. At EMC Mr. Murphy was responsible for managing the existing customer base in the Northeast market. Prior to EMC, Mr. Murphy worked in the IT department for Moore Stephens Lovelace, a regional accounting firm based in Florida.
Mr. Murphy holds a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Central Florida. In addition, Mr. Murphy completed the Facilities Management Certification program through the Building Owners and Managers Association and received a PMP designation from the Project Management Institute.
Chad Robinson
Vice President of Critical Environments
Chad Robinson, Vice President of Critical Environments, is responsible for all critical building operations at both the Atlanta & Orlando DataSite/ Burges Properties. Mr. Robinson has over 20 years of critical facility management and a proven track record of project management within stringent and budget conscious working environments.
Prior to joining DataSite, Mr. Robinson worked for one of the largest publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT) in the world. His work and commitment yielded the company over 15 million per month of gross revenue. Mr. Robinson also led in helping the state of Arizona pass legislation A.R.S. §41-1519, computer data center tax relief. He helped to orchestrate a nationally exclusive agreement with Foster Fuels to provide emergency fuel to all customer locations in the US as a redundant fuel source in the event of a statewide disaster.
Chad Robinson maintains his thorough commitment and instills within the DataSite team a diverse understanding and ongoing interactive cross training approach to his management style. His efforts have encouraged not only business growth, but also individual growth for all DataSite employees. Mr. Robinson has also continued his relationship with Foster Fuels to bring the same agreement to the DataSite corporation.
He is a graduate of the University of Phoenix and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He has certifications for Onan/Cummins Generator Systems Training, Andover Controls Training Level One (TAC) and a Universal Certification RSI A 2747 from The Refrigeration School.
Andrew Rizza
Chief Critical Environment Technician - Atlanta
Andrew Rizza, Chief Critical Environment Technician, is responsible for all critical building operations at the DataSite Atlanta data center. Mr. Rizza has over 13 years of data center management experience and nearly 20 years in the web hosting industry.
Prior to joining DataSite, Mr. Rizza worked for NationalNet, Inc. as their Director of Facilities. He was responsible for all of the day to day data center operations of the data center property. Mr. Rizza was responsible for the care and operation of all the critical infrastructure supporting the data center which included all UPS systems, battery strings, generator plant chillers and CRAC units. Additionally, Mr. Rizza was responsible for the annual SSAE-18 SOC 2 audit, working with vendors on all phases of preventive maintenance, new customer installations, upgrades & changes along with a host of other duties. Prior to becoming the Director of Facilities, Mr. Rizza worked as a project manager, overseeing software development and managing NationalNet’s domain registrar.
He is a graduate of Villanova University with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Daniel Wheeler
Chief Critical Environment Technician
Daniel Wheeler, Chief Critical Environment Technician, is responsible for all critical building operations at the DataSite Orlando data center. Mr. Wheeler has over 12 years of experience in critical environment operations with a specialized focus in Building Management Systems, UPS Systems, Turbine and Diesel Generators, & HVAC Systems.
Prior to joining DataSite, Mr. Wheeler served in the US Navy as a nuclear power plant operator on a Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine. Mr. Wheeler was responsible for operating, maintaining, and training personnel on all aspects of the nuclear reactor and associated power and propulsion systems.
Mr. Wheeler is a graduate of the Naval Nuclear Power School and holds additional certifications in vibration monitoring, thermal imaging, electrolytic oxygen generators, station batteries, and Caterpillar 3500 series engines.
