BICSI recognizes DataSite Colocation Data Center Tour (Orlando) as valid training to receive BICSI Continuing Education Credits! The one hour tour is free of charge and offers a great opportunity to see behind the scenes of a live enterprise colocation data center.
As of July 23, 2011, anyone with the following BICSI accreditations will be able to receive 1 BICSI CEC (Continuing Education Credit) for a no-cost, one-hour tour of the DataSite Orlando colocation facility:
RCDD, RITP, DCDC, Installer 2 (Copper/Fiber), Technician, Certified Trainer
DataSite will provide a one hour facility tour in which we will show and discuss the following data center attributes which will provide attendees with a good understanding of the relationships between various disciplines of a data center.
- Facility: design characteristics of purpose built data center
- Security: typical colocation security levels both at our facility and others
- Raised Floor: demonstration of raised floor construction, cabling and air distribution and chilled water piping
- Networks: explanation of carrier neutral versus in-house providers
- Water Cooling: our facility is uniquely set up for water cooling and it is a great opportunity to see high-density and super-computing water cooled applications in action
- Power: including main utility switchgear, transformers, tie-breakers, UPS, PDUs and rack level as well as generator back up
- Cooling Plant: discussion of our chiller room, efficiencies available and types of data center cooling
